Our History

In 1937, a group of believers gathered together on the last Sunday in June. Two months later, they started a new church. This was the beginning of what is now Rogue Valley Christian Church.

1937-1959 | Downtown Medford

The Church originally met in Downtown Medford. It held services and outreach opportunities in this location until 1959. Pictured left are those in attendance during a Vacation Bible School event. The Church received its name change in 1988 but was originally called "Central Church of Christ."

1960 - Present | Oakdale Avenue

Eventually those in attendance exceeded the space available in downtown Medford. The Church gathered their resources and purchased a piece of land in South Medford.

Rogue Valley Christian Church moved to its present location in 1960. The building has been renovated on multiple occasions to help create more office and classroom space.

living in community

Rogue Valley Christian Church believes in community. Our very location is set within a neighborhood. We hope to use our space and resources to support those around us. This is evidenced by partnering with Pregnancy Resource Center or Helping Hands International, hosting events such as our annual "Trunk or Treat," or helping facilitate clubs in local schools.

mission minded

Every community begins with the individual. We hope to be a space where there is grace, truth, and forgiveness. Where people can not only know the love of Jesus but be surrounded by it. This was the mission in 1937 and it is still our mission today.
